The people from the Hotel are very friendly and Helpfull
If you want to visit Pisa and tour Toscana, then hotel A. La spina is the hotel of choice. Just 5 mins away from the Pisa central train station as well as from corso italia the main shopping street. Piazza dei miracoli is approx 30 mins walk. Hotel provides an good value for money since it is small, clean, has good size rooms, a good bfast and most imp excellent staff. Will definitively try to stay there when back to Pisa.
The hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the train station. You can walk to the hotel even with heavy bags. You can also get to city buses easily from the area around the hotel, including a Via bus to Lucca that stops about 4 blocks from the hotel. We also found a self service laundry mat on the street leading from the train station to the hotel; for 7.4 Euros we washed a load of laundry pretty efficiently. The staff is extremely helpful and speak English fairly well. The room was comfortable and very clean, with a tv, refrigerator, and even a safe for our passports and extra money. Best of all, the room had a/c to cool us off after a long day of sight seeing in Pisa and in nearby Lucca (we stayed there for 3 nights in June). The continental breakfast was fine (no boiled eggs) with lots of bread products and sweets. There were no fresh fruits, only canned peaches and prunes. Unless you ask for espresso, if you are American, they automatically assume you want your coffee weak so specify how you want your coffee (no specialty drink choices). In summary, I would stay at this hotel again if I am ever in Pisa and need a convenient hotel.
The shower is very small and compact (similar to a cruise ship shower) so larger people would be uncomfortable. The neighborhood was safe in the day and is very working class. It took us about 40 minutes to walk to the Leaning Tower, for example. There are a few restaurants in the area. Some of the streets around the hotel seemed as if they would be rough at night, though we did not venture out past dark because we were traveling with a young child who was tired at the end of the day. However, don't be alarmed. We felt perfectly safe during the day.
I loved the helpfulness, politeness, and punctuality of the staff.
I did not like the firm matress.
Lovely hotel in a great location for walking to all main sites in Pisa. Supermarket, shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast very nice and rooms beautifully clean and very comfortable.
Good location for connection to train station and airport which is why I chose it. Efficient staff, decent facilities.
No late night food available, arrived after 12am
Good location close to train station and the city.
own parking place; good location, very nice and clean room, big, spacious room with spacious bathroom, nice lobby area with several of books about Tuscany,
had to pay for parking, lobby area very loud of breakfast plates being washed in the morning
Friendly, helpfull, quite and clean with a lovely breakfast, Close to the station and within walking distance of the main sites of Pisa.
We received a warm and cheerful welcome and every member of staff we met on reception was friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious compared to our previous hotel. The hotel was a five minute, flat walk from the station. The location was also ideal for our 5.30 am taxi pick up to the airport - what seemed a five minute journey. Unfortunately, this meant that we could not try the breakfast. Just a shame it was a transit hotel for us so we didn't manage to enjoy all it had to offer.
Reception on Sky News channel not very good - but is that a problem when you are on holiday?
great staff really helpful, huge room, walking distance from station,i thoght the area was a bit rough but it was not,no problem walking at night
Short walk from the station, friendly welcoming staff nice public areas- family room for 3 was large excellent beds with access to our own balcony. Bathroom clean and very well appointed- internet access fine
This transformed Villa was awesome. Very close to the train station and less than a 30 minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We will return!
Staff were helpful however I had to leave before breakfast and were not offered a warm drink as suggested in the info,
I was in the first room on the ground floor and retired early as I had an early morning flight. Not a good room for someone retiring early. Too much noise within the hotel and from outside.
Huge bathroom and great shower. Plenty of space throughout and a very pleasant stay. About a 30 minute walk to the Leaning Tower and 15 minutes to the centre.
You had to pay for parking. £10 per night.
